Unusual rock crystal heart shaped locket with an integral white enamel heart set within.The memorial reads 'Witham Boynton Ob 18th Nov 1759'.
High carat gold cut-down setting and pendant loop. Facetted rock crystal.

Witham Boynton is likely to have been from the prominent East Yorkshire Boynton family of Burton Agnes Hall. I have located a Witham Boynton born 1685 in Whitby but as he is documented to have married the enamel would have been black rather than white. Griffith Boynton, 6th Baronet, married Anne White who died 1743 giving birth to their only son.It is therefore possible that this pendant relates to him.
