Charming late Georgian cut steel tiara depicting  five wild rose blooms set above a swagged garland and leaf design c.1830. The wild rose is symbolic in the language of flowers of purity, love and marriage.

The tiara spans 5 inches across with a height of 1 inch. Superb condition.

Such tiaras at this time were fashionable copies of their diamond counterparts.

Important collections of cut steel jewellery are held by the Lady Lever Art Gallery, the Birmingham Museums Trust, and Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen.
One of the few books devoted to the subject is the 1971 Cut Steel and Berlin Iron Jewellery by Anne Clifford.
