Wide Regency mourning band  for Westgarth Snaith (1757-1816) a wealthy banker of Mansion House Street in the City of London. He married Jane Sikes  in 1791. After 1803 he owned Addington Palace a Palladian Surrey mansion still standing. His last will was unsigned on his deathbed but was challenged and upheld.

The band is unusual in having both milled gold and plain borders to the design. Makers mark IP and full London hallmarks.
