Stunning quality pave turquoise hawk stickpin c.1840.
Attributable to the workshop of Charles du Ve, jeweller in Maddox St.in 1840 who made the 12 pave-set turquoise eagle brooches for Queen Victoria's bridesmaids at her wedding to Prince Albert, February 1840.
The similarity can be seen in the rose diamond-set beak and the ruby eyes.
The hawk is cleverly modelled to appear as he is about to take flight from his ceremonial stand. Gold stickpin 3 inches.
The length of the hawk is under 2cms.A miniature marvel.
