Carved and chased Georgian 18carat gold and enamel mourning band inscribed for Thomas Rhodes Esq 22nd may 1826 aged 27.

Crunchy repoussé chased band of shells,leaves and flowers with enamel and milled borders .

Fully hallmarked for George IV 1826.

Flowers can symbolise the fragility of life and seashells the resurrection while leaves represent renewal,hope,death and rebirth.

Size 8 on the ringpole but fits smaller due to width and chunkiness of the design.Internal width 18mm.

Weight 6.2 grams.
