Mourning ring for Sarah Stow Lundie depicting an immaculate sulphide urn carved in crystal.

Black enamel border to bezel reads Sarah Stow Lundie Ob 8 April aet 32.  Neoclassical draped urn in the style of Robert Adam.

Beautiful original shank with bright-cut decoration to the shoulders and underside of bezel.

The Stow-Lundie family were connected to Spital House, Berwick upon Tweed in the Scottish Borders.The line died out 1837.

Size 7.5. 

Sulphides were popularized by Apsley Pellatt and James Tassie in the late c18th called 'cameo incrustations'.
