Very fine example of a Stuart crystal ring c.1690-1720 depicting two colourful angels carrying a heart aloft on a background of pink foil,a gold thread cypher between them. Although often described as a mourning ring the heart could very likely represent a bethrothal.
The setting is further ornamented with carved leaves,carved and enamelled shoulders and arcaded black enamel to the underside of the bezel replete with white enamel dots.High carat gold.
