Sir William Forbes (1773-1828)was the 7th Baronet of Pitsligo. He was a wealthy Edinburgh banker the son of Walter Scott’s friend William Forbes(6th Baronet).In 1797 he married Scott’s early love, Williamina Belsches.He is referenced throughout The Memoirs of the Life of Walter Scott.
