Fine early Georgian white enamel and 22 carat mourning ring for Sir John Armytage Baronet dated 1732.
The text reads ‘I.Armytage Bt Ob  2 De 1732 Aet 72’.
An unusual 1730s style formed of sections of enamelled text  divided by smaller reeded plain gold sections.
The white enamel has mellowed to a rather subtle lilac grey surface. C18th white enamel does age in a very particular way and rarely chips like black enamel, it rather fades to a matt eggshell.
