Like miniature masterpieces of hair art, this pair of cufflinks c.1780 are reminiscent of the popular mourning and sentimental rings of the time, being of octagonal lozenge shape each housing a weave of hair with three having an added tied kisscurl atop. Very likely to have been worn by a proud father as mementos of his children.
15 carat gold. Domed crystal covers.
Each lozenge 2 cms by 1.25 cms.
