Rare 22 carat and white enamel George III mourning band  with reeded detail to the edges.These swirly outer bands which frame the written central enamel  band hold the light beautifully and have an irresistible tactile quality.
The rarer white enamel mourning bands denote innocence and unmarried status.
Some wear to the white enamel but the majority intact.

The rather sad entry of his death can be found online with the description that “ he died at his fathers, Finsbury-place, of a decline, aged 17, second son of Samuel Mills Esq.”
