Fine quality Victorian Essex Crystal racehorse stickpin dated 1893.

Original fitted box, the item was retailed by Rowlands and Frazer 146 Regent St.(the shop was under this name 1860-1905).
The inscription to reverse ‘J.Thompson from Chesham 1893.’
Joseph Thompson was a famous bookmaker of the late c19th and arrived in London in 1889 so could have been the recipient of this pin, possibly from Lord Chesham the racehorse owner.
The Mother of Pearl backing to the reverse carved intaglio has some natural flaws.
