Fine quality Victorian Essex Crystal pendant of a racecourse with inscription dated 1893.
Set in 18 carat gold marked setting with the reverse carved intaglio set to a mother of pearl ground.
1.6cms diameter.
The inscription reads ‘J.Thompson from Chesham 1893.’
Joseph Thompson(1838-1909)was a famous bookmaker of the late c19th and arrived in London in 1889 so could have been the recipient, possibly from Lord Chesham the racehorse owner.
