Often described erroneously as 'Queen Anne' paste,these necklaces of large oval rose-cut coloured pastes in dished gilt-metal mounts were amongst the most popular and flamboyant paste jewels in England in the mid 18th century.Fitted with simple loops for ribbon at the back with a large pear-shaped drop at the front.This example in imitation of amethyst in simple claw settings. 

12.5 inches in length.Drop 2 inches.Condition excellent with most of the original mercury gild intact.
