I have had the identical bow in chrysoberyl which points to the Portuguese origin,and in that same style of chrysoberyl jewellery great skill is employed to calibré-cut the stones in irregular shapes to fit the settings precisely.Would have been worn pinned to a trangular bodice or 'stomacher'at the front of the corset.Later Victorian pin to reverse.
