Delightful portrait miniature of a young lady in a blue dress, with a silk ‘cockade’ in her hair.1760.

She wears a fashionable lace ruffle popular in the Rococo period.The ruffle could be layered with coloured paste collars, there is blue visible through the lace which could indeed be a paste collar.

English school, circle of Gervase Spencer.

Original gilt frame and carved bale.
