Two rare survivors, Georgian embroidered pictures using black silk on ivory silk.
The earliest picture in a fine fruitwood frame depicts the country house Holkham Hall,Norfolk with deer park and lake.(The house was constructed in the Palladian style for the 1st Earl of Leicester by the architect William Kent, aided by Lord Burlington,completed 1764).
The other in a heavierand slightly later maple frame depicting a romantic pastoral scene typical of late c18th grisaille painting.
Both have damage commensurate with age,they are extremely rare to find at all and almost impossible to find in perfect condition.
Both c.1790.
