Charming foiled opaline paste cruciform pendant c.1800. set in gold. One of the rarest colours in Georgian paste,opaline was a French fashion from the first half of the c18th where rose-coloured foiling was placed beneath transclucent milky paste stones(either cabochon or facetted) to create a unique opalescence. This pendant has very slight wear commensurate with age and measures 1 inch by 1 inch.
