Fine high carat gold and enamel Georgian mourning band for Lieutenant General Baugh.

The white enamel central band (signifying he was unmarried) reads ‘Lt.Genl.Baugh.Ob.13.Apr:1792.Aet.63’

Perfect condition,unlikely to ever have been worn. Size 9.5.

London hallmarks,makers mark JB.

Baugh was buried in St.James, Piccadilly 18 April 1792.

His Will begins

‘Lancelot Baugh of Wimpole St., St. Mary le Bone, Esq., Lieutenant General in the Army and Colonel of H.M. 6th (or the First Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot….’

The Will records all beneficiaries with codicils including

“my wearing apparel to Lewis Collett my servant, and my diamond shirt buckles to John Baugh my nephew..”
