Superb quality Georgian 22 carat gold and black enamel mourning ring with an unusual milled and scalloped border.

The enamel reads John Remington Esq.Obt 26 Mar 1813 aet 86.

The ring is marked with a lion passant and the King’s head and date letter R for 1813.

Size 7.5.

7.3 grams.

Immaculate condition.

John Remington was the primary benefactor to his nephew Thomas Wilson, the famous philanthropist and founder of University College London.
