22 carat gold and enamel mourning band for Jane Evelyn inscribed ‘Jane Evelyn Died 1 Nov 1791, aged 61’.

Tiny loss to enamel but a crisp,virtually unworn example.
Provenance: Collection of Charles Cope Jenkinson 3rd Earl of Liverpool(1784-1851)husband of Julia Evelyn Medley who inherited Felbridge Place, home of Jane Evelyn.
Jane Evelyn née Cust(daughter of Sir Richard Cust and Anne Brownlow) was born in Pinchbeck,Lincolnshire and was first married to Francis Fane who died 1758. Her second husband was the wealthy landowner James Evelyn(1718-1793).Tragically their one daughter Anne died aged 24 when her gown caught fire.
