English, c.1770.
The floral basket is formed of strands of hair which have been shaped ingeniously into leaves and blooms highlighted in red paint with gold leaf forming the handle and base of the basket. The whole composition is suspended from a painted Rococo bow and set beneath a domed crystal cover.
