Early c19th Georgian gold and pearl swivel ring with rectangular glazed locket bezel. c.1820. 
Would have originally held a keepsake such as a miniature or a lock of hair of the beloved.
The form is so simple but extremely stylish and beautifully made.The crystal rectangle can be carefully prized open and snaps firmly shut. The glass is perfectly bevelled and set.
