Unusual form Georgian snake ring with the serpent encircling an oval forget-me-not hardstone cameo c.1830.

The head is cross-hatched and with raised bobble eyes.

The snake motif always popular in jewellery symbolising eternal life, love, and wisdom became a trend after Victoria and Albert’s engagement in 1839 when Albert personally designed an emerald ring in the form of a snake.

15 carat gold.

Retaining the original locket to reverse.
