Pavé-set old cut diamond circlet pendant c.1800.

Traditionally worn as a lacepin the original hinge has been adapted and the pin replaced with a pendant loop,in order to maintain its integrity.

Just under 1inch in diameter.

The piece is strikingly contemporary looking yet over 2 centuries old.

The diamonds are foiled and closed back in silver cut-down settings and backed in gold, typical of the late 18th century.

The beauty of the piece stems from the irregularly shaped old-cut diamonds set in two rows, a tour-de-force of diamond setting, an art now impossible to reproduce.
