Elegant late Georgian cut-steel earrings of elongated chandelier form c.1830.

Length 2.5 inches.

These earrings have the tiny, tightly packed steel studs which are an indicator of an earlier date, while the undulating shape of the central panel is particularly pleasing.

Cut steel jewellery was already fashionable by the early c19th in England, designed to be worn by candlelight where the highly polished and facetted studs would scintillate like diamonds.
