Unusual enamel navette brooch/pendant studded with rose-diamonds and a central pink topaz. English c.1785.
As popularised in France the 'firmament' designs imitating the stars in the night's sky,and the 'bagues a l'Enfantement' (with a large central stone celebrating the arrival of the Dauphin in 1781) influenced designs in England where this unusual navette brooch incorporates gold stars and diamonds studs on a deep blue guilloche enamel ground with a central foiled pink topaz in it's own cut-down setting.
