Large octagonal portrait miniature of  the beautiful aristocrat Félicité de Chasteigner in Empire line blue silk dress, a gold and pearl diadem in her hair. c.1810.
Gilt-metal frame 2.5 by 2.2 inches.
Small chip to glass bottom left.
The reverse has the original green paper inscribed with the sitters name.
Félicité De Chasteigner was born in Fontenay 1790 and died in Auzay 1870. She was the daughter of Daniel Louis Henri De Chasteigner, seigneur du Bergeriou and Marie Thérèse Beurrey. She  married Victor De Rorthays, Marquis De Monbail on September 23 1807, they had one son,Armand.
