Unusual 18 carat agate and enamel mourning ring for Elizabeth Kemeys Tynte, nee Swinnerton 10th May 1838.
The ring is set with an agate which has a simple white band representing the line of the soul.
The shank is fully enamelled with a sinuous floral wreath, with fritillaries and forget-me-nots.
The condition is good but there is some wear to the enamel around the bezel.
Size 5.
Elizabeth Swinnerton became in 1820 the second wife of Charles John Kemeys Tynte, an English Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons.They lived at Halswell House, Somerset.
