Finest quality 15 carat fob seal belonging to George King(1779-1839)the 3rd Earl of Kingston, an Irish nobleman c.1800.
The cornelian intaglio with The Earl’s armorial, out of a coronet a dexter hand with the third and fourth finger turned down.
Seal 2.5cms by 2cms. Fob 3cms.
The scrolled gold mount is elegantly designed with a pendant flame to the centre.
The Third Earl succeeded in 1799 inheriting Mitchelstown Castle which he rebuilt extravagantly in 1823., designed by James and George Richard Pain.
