The stones are open backed and beautifully facetted and cut in unusual shapes particularly the lower citrine.

Cut-down 15 carat settings with the typical late Georgian style of pie-crust crimping.

Pansies were employed in jewellery in the late Georgian and early Victorian period being symbolic of ‘pensee’ or thoughts, a short hand for ‘thinking of you’ ‘pensé a moi’.
