Very finely modelled serpent particularly the scales and head with realistic ventral scales on the belly of the snake.
The citrine intaglio displays the armorial bearings of the Carstairs of Kilconquhar, the Scottish clan of Fife.
The coat of arms includes a saltire, gules, a setting sun, the motto ‘Irrevocable’ and two cranes as supporters.
The seal hangs from a high carat reeded split ring.
