Rare gilt metal medal in the form of an artist's palette with the legend 'British School' and the Prince of Wales' feathers,inscribed to the reverse 262.

Probably for the British Institution in Pall Mall(1805-1867) a private 19th-century society in London formed to exhibit the works of living and dead artists; it was also known as the Pall Mall Picture Galleries or the British Gallery.

An example can be found in the British Museum collection.
