The movement in producing these Etruscan,Greek,Roman and Egyptian styles which were directly inspired by the major excavations of the c18th and c19th feature intricate granulation, filigree and rich gold with gemstones,often in bold, textured designs with mythological motifs, popularised chiefly by the Italian jewelers Castellani.
