Charming 18ct square photo locket with an enamel and pearl 4 leaf clover c.1890.
The four-leaf clover, with its rare and elusive nature, has long been regarded as a harbinger of good luck and serendipitous encounters. Each leaf is said to represent a different facet of fortune: faith, hope, love, and luck itself.
Continental in origin with makers marks on the pendant ring,likely Austrian or Swiss.
The internal locket frame contains an early photo at present which can easily be removed if desired.See photos.
