Stunning large scale Victorian 15carat gold locket back pendant of navette form with a carved quatrefoil design and applied initial ‘L’ in natural pearls.
C.1865. Lovely reeded bail.
Although the original fitted box is in poor condition it has saved the pendant which has retained the full beauty of its original mercury bloom.It also gives us evidence of the master jeweller who created the pendant, London and Ryder of 17 New Bond St. The label also tells us the company were awarded a medal at the Great Exhibition of 1862.More of the jewellers history can be found online on the Hancocks website.
